With weather changes, many of us experience changes in our skin.  As a skin care expert, clients often ask me about products and regimens that can support these changes.  Here are the top 3 tips for taking care of your skin during seasonal changes:
  1. Monitor your moisturizer — as seasons change, so does the moisture in the air.  Be sure to adjust how much and how little moisturizer you apply to your skin depending upon the moisture in the air.  You will need to provide moisture for your skin that the natural climate does not.
  2. Always wear sunscreen — as fall and winter approach, the #1 mistake people make is assuming that they no longer need sunscreen.  Sunscreen wear isn’t just for the pool.  You should always wear a sunscreen on your face of at least 15-30 SPF.  This keeps the skin protected against harmful rays, which can lead to irregularities in your skin, as well as premature aging.
  3. Consider a using skins “boosters” during changes — if you’re good at following both #1 and #2 above, but still feel like your skin requires that little “extra,” then consider one of the Concentrated Boosters I carry at Alichia Ryan Studio.  Concentrated Boosters are highly-active extracts that can be used to customize home care regimens on a day-to-day basis. Designed to be used alone on skin for targeted use or mixed in with Dermalogica Moisturizers or Masques, Concentrated Boosters are the perfect way to take control of the skin’s natural fluctuations. Their versatility makes them ideal in adapting any at-home regimen to the changes in climate, hormonal imbalance or lifestyle.
